How to Book an Appointment

There are number of different ways for you to book an appointment at our surgery:

  • In person - you can come upto the surgery to book a appointment
  • By Phone - You can call the Surgery on, 0121 773 3737 to book your appointment
  • On-line - Once you register for this service, you can book and cancel your appointments online.

Routine Appointments

Our Surgeries are operated by an appointment system. We have a fixed number of appoint-ments to offer and have to ensure that our patients get the appointments they need rather than want. Our receptionists have been carefully trained by the doctors here to ask questions about what you need. Please help them to help you by answering their questions as more often than not, they will be able to find you the soonest appointment. You can politely decline however.

You may see any doctor in the practice but it is preferable to see one doctor consistently, especially for a period of illness.

So that we can cater for the needs of patients wishing to book appointments for the same day and for those wishing to book in advance we offer 2 types of appointments.

You need to book your appointment on the day you wish to be seen.  We have appointments with all GPs on all days which can only be booked on that same day.

There are some pre-bookable appointments for every surgery.  We have appointments for morning and afternoons with all doctors which can be booked up to 6 weeks in advance.

Click here to see our doctors' consultation times.

Urgent Appointments

Please be aware that we do not offer a walk in service. Urgent on the day requests must be made by phone. If you walk in, you will be asked to return home and await a call from the on call doctor.

If you feel that your issue is urgent enough to need to be seen on the same day, you can again ask to go onto the daily triage list and the on call doctor will call you back. If the doctor agrees it is urgent, you will usually get an appointment within a few hours. If it can wait an appropriate appointment will be found for you on another day, but within a timescale suitable for your medical need. If you wish to be seen urgently it will be with the first available doctor and GP preference will not be possible.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. You can do this by:

  • In person - you can come upto the surgery to cancel a appointment
  • By Phone - You can call the Surgery on, 0121 773 3737 (Press option 1, and 1) to cancel your appointment
  • On-line - Once you register for this service, you can cancel your appointments online.
  • SMS - If you have given consent to recieve SMS appointment reminders then you can cancel a appointment by replying back to your appointment reminder.

Chaperones

If you would like a chaperone present at any time during a consultation when you are being examined please let your clinician know. We will be happy to organise for another member of staff to be present at that examination.

Telephone Advice

You can obtain telephone advice from the GP or practice nurse after morning and afternoon surgeries.
