Our practice provides the following services: ​

Asthma Clinic

By appointment with the practice nurse for advice and long-term follow-up for patients with asthma and COPD. Includes an assessment of how well asthma is controlled and appropriate advice on inhalers, inhaler technique and lifestyle issues.

If you have been advised by the surgery to submit an annual review of your asthma symptoms, please complete our Asthma Review form.

If you have been advised by the surgery to submit a COPD assessment, please complete our COPD Assessment form.

Child Health Promotion

Clinics are run on Tuesday and Wednesday between 09:00 and 11:00 with a doctor and the health visiting team.

Childhood Immunisation

This clinic runs on Tuesday mornings, and this includes the 6-8 week baby check with the GP prior to immunisation. A clinic also runs on Wednesday mornings. It is open access and usually has access to a GP.

Diabetic Clinic

By arrangement with your doctor or practice nurses. We offer 30 minute appointments for 6 monthly diabetic checks and also run a monthly diabetes education clinic for newly diagnosed patients.

ECG

We offer an in-house ECG interpretation service.

Family Planning

Provided by the practice nurse. We offer pills, caps, coils, sheaths, preconception counselling and pregnancy testing. We also offer Implanons, patches and sexual health advice. These services can be arranged in normal surgeries.

Flu Vaccination

From October to February, flu vaccinations are available for over 65s, chronic patients and those ‘at risk’.

Healthy Heart Clinic

Gives advice in reducing your risk of future heart problems. Includes blood pressure, dietary advice and help in stopping smoking, cholesterol and electrocardiogram (ECG) as appropriate.

If you have been advised by the surgery to submit your blood pressure readings on a regular basis, please complete our Blood Pressure Review form.

Leg Ulcer Clinic

Provided by the district nurses who hold clinics on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. By GP referral only.

Maternity Medical Services

Provided by the attached community midwife. A post-natal appointment is with the GP at 6 weeks.

Smoking Cessation Clinic

Comprehensive advice and support for stopping smoking, including prescriptions for nicotine replacement therapy and medications.

Sexual Health Clinic

We offer sexual health screening.

Well Woman Clinic

Held by the practice nurse by appointment for help with women’s problems including advice on breast examination, blood pressure, hormone replacement therapy, dietary advice and cervical smear testing.

Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible – at least 6 weeks before you travel – as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

To help the travel nurses assess your travel needs it is important that they are in receipt of our Travel Risk Assessment form before your appointment.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
